The LORD demands HOLINESS as the essential character trait of individuals who serve HIM in Eternity!
The Lost person can easily despair when this is truly comprehended…because anyone who is honest with himself or herself, including the Christian who actually wants to relate to The LORD according to HIS terms, realizes that a human can NEVER attain to the Perfection & HOLINESS of The LORD’s Righteous Standard by anything that this human has the ability to do or to say!
This Requirement for SALVATION is solved by the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ!
Jesus Christ provides HOLINESS to the PROUD-SINNER who REPENTS (i.e. turns 180 degrees from SIN and SELF to HOLINESS in CHRIST.)
The Believer in Jesus Christ is reckoned innocent for Jesus paid our HELL six hours one Friday!
Now GOD will not violate the Jurisprudence of Double Jeopardy toward the Believer in Jesus Christ!
However, The Holy Spirit of GOD Who resides in the heart/the spirit of every true Christian CAN be both Grieved and Quenched! The Holy Spirit will not empower and assure the Christian who is living in SIN that both The LORD and the Believer knows without doubt.
